Welcome to Mad Beans – Where It All Began

Mad Beans began in 2024, born from a simple idea — to create something we could look back on one day and feel proud of. We wanted to do something meaningful, something that mattered. When we’re older and reflecting, we don’t want to be saying “what could have been.” We’d rather say, “we gave it a shot, and sure didn’t we do our best.”

For us, that meant creating something of our own — something real, built with care and purpose. And because we’ve always loved coffee (the ritual, the flavour, the pause it brings), it felt like the perfect place to start. 

The name itself comes from Martin’s childhood nickname, “Mad,” which felt fitting for the leap we were about to take. After all, you’d have to be a tad mad to pour so much time and love into a bag of beans.

In 2025, that mad idea turned into a proud moment when Mad Beans Cold Rush, our cold brew coffee concentrate, won a Blas na hÉireann Silver Award. Born from listening to our customers, Cold Rush is proof that when you care enough, great things happen.

Mad Beans is our way of bringing a bit of joy to your daily brew — and a reminder that sometimes, the best things come from taking that mad little leap.
